Day 1: Nice/Savona– 17:00
Savona is the capital of the Province of Savona, in the Riviera di Ponente on the Mediterranean Sea.
Nowadays, the city revolves around the port and fortress Priamar which is the authentic symbol of Savona.
Inhabited in ancient times by Ligures tribes, it came under Roman influence in c. 180 BC, after the Punic wars in which the city had been allied to Carthage. At the fall of the Western Roman Empire, it passed under Lombard rule in 641 (being destroyed in the attack) after a short period as an Ostrogoth and then Byzantine possession. Later it recovered as county seat in the Carolingian Empire.
After a long struggle against the Saracens, Savona acquired independence in the 11th century becoming a free municipality. Subsequently, after a short alliance, it fought Genoa before being definitively conquered in 1528. It then shared the fortunes of the Republic of Genoa until Napoleonic times, and subsequent annexation to the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont (1815).
Day 2: Barcelona 13:00 – 19:00
Barcelona has found the perfect balance between sea and mountains: one foot set in traditions and the other set in the avant-garde. at the same time both rebellious and traditionalist, both elegant and proletarian, it is the Spanish city which has most renewed itself in the last few years.
Art, architecture, good food and nightlife are just some of the attractions of this splendid city. The overlap of different architectural styles in the last three centuries has made the city an authentic open air museum in perfect balance between tradition and modernity.
Barcelona is famous for the architectural works of Gaudì, the eccentric and genial architect: one must visit his Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, La Pedrera (Casa Milà) and Casa Battlò. A walk in its streets is like going over the different artistic and urban planning concepts in the history of architecture. The extraordinary cultural offer and the infinite possibilities for shopping have turned it into one of the most emerging European destinations, especially in the last 10 years. It’s not by chance, therefore, that in the last five years visits for tourism have surpassed those for business.
Day 3: Ajaccio 13:00 – 19:00
It is a city where one sees easily the pride of the people who live here and whose history is relatively recent but yet very rich in significant events. Ajaccio is a place, able to seduce all visitors, with the beauty of its scenery and its truly enchanting areas.
Day 4: Savona/Nice 09:00
