Day 1: Marseille – 17:00

Marseille, the oldest city of France, was founded in 600 BC by Greeks from Phocaea as a trading port under the name Massalia. Nowadays it is the most populous French commune after Paris and is the center of the third largest metropolitan area in the country. To the east, starting in the small fishing village of Callelongue on the outskirts of Marseille and stretching as far as Cassis, are the Calanques, a rugged coastal area interspersed with small fjords. Further east still are the Sainte-Baume, a 1,147 m (3,763 ft) mountain ridge rising from a forest of deciduous trees, the town of Toulon and the French Riviera. To the north of Marseille, beyond the low Garlaban and Etoile mountain ranges, is the 1,011 m (3,317 ft) Mont Sainte Victoire. To the west of Marseille is the former artists’ colony of l’Estaque; further west are the Côte Bleue, the Lion Gulf and the Camargue region in the Rhône delta.

Florence is the capital city of the Italian region of Tuscany and of the province of Florence. The city lies on the River Arno and is known for its history and its importance in the Middle Ages and in the Renaissance, especially for its art and architecture. A centre of medieval European trade and finance and one of the richest and wealthiest cities of the time[3], Florence is often considered the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance; in fact, it has been called the Athens of the Middle Ages. The historic center of Florence continues to attract millions of tourists each year and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1982. Florence is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and its artistic[7], historic and cultural heritage and impact in the world remain vast up to this day.

Day 2: Livorno – 19:00

The impressive Duomo, crowned by the magnificent dome by Brunelleschi. The David de Michelangelo, contemplating for centuries the Piazza della Signoria. The offices, the powerful Medicis palace, which houses masterpieces from Boticcelli, Michelangelo, Titian and Giotto. The remains of the most famous Renaissance poet, Dante. And Santa Croce, where lie the two most famous children of Florence: Galileo and Michelangelo. No city on earth can match the Renaissance glories of Florence.

Day 3: Civitavecchia – Rome 08:00 – 19:00

No other city comes close. It may no longer be caput mundi (capital of the world), but Rome is an epic, bubbling-over metropolis harbouring lost empires. One visit and you’ll be hooked. Rome has a glorious monumentality that it wears without reverence. Its architectural heirlooms are buzzed around by car and Vespa as if they were no more than traffic islands.
The city bombards you with images: elderly ladies with dyed hair chatting in Trastevere; priests with cigars strolling the Imperial Forums; traffic jams around the Colosseum; plate loads of pasta in Piazza Navona; sinuous trees beside the Villa Borghese; barrages of pastel-colored scooters revving up at traffic lights as if preparing for a race.

Day 4: Naples 08:00 – 16:00

The origins of this extraordinary historical and cultural center, whose culinary and musical traditions have been exported around the world are rather old. According to legend, the city of Naples’ origins are rooted in the myth of the Siren Parthenope (”of the voice of virgins”). Her body washed up on the shore of nearby Megaride, a tiny island in the Bay of Naples, was found by the locals, who respectfully interred her remains in Mount Echia, now the hill of Pizzofalcone. Dominated by Mount Vesuvius, whose smoking headdress plumes every corner of the city and each illustration, which represents it represents, Naples is undoubtedly a very exciting city, both because of its geographical position and the abundance of historical artifacts and monuments. Vesuvius is the only active volcano in mainland Europe, and has produced some of the continent’s largest volcanic eruptions. Located on Italy’s west coast, it overlooks the Bay and City of Naples and sits in the crater of the ancient Somma volcano. Vesuvius is most famous for the 79 AD eruption which destroyed the Roman cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum.

Third city of Tunisia after Tunis and Sfax, Sousse owes its status as the undoubted capital of the region to these assets :

* An olive grove stretching over more than 2,500 square kilometers, constituting one of its main riches since Antiquity;

Smaller and quieter than its neighbor Mallorca, Menorca (Minorca) is the second largest of the Balearic islands. The blue and white island has preserved its wild charm as the rocks of the north coast, rugged and battered by frequent blow “Tramuntana” seem inhabited for miles. The beaches in the South of Menorca, migjorn, of white sand, are mostly surrounded by pine woods with rich vegetation. The northern coast, la tramuntana, is steeper, with rocks, of great beauty. Mahón, the capital, is probably the liveliest place on the island. In the area called Anden Poniente, close to the port, you will be able to enjoy all kind of local restaurants, cafeterias, bars, locals with live music and discotheques. Legend tells that the winds of Menorca modify one’s personality of. Maybe that is the reason why those who visited once mostly return.

Savona is the capital of the Province of Savona, in the Riviera di Ponente on the Mediterranean Sea.
Nowadays, the city revolves around the port and fortress Priamar which is the authentic symbol of Savona.
Inhabited in ancient times by Ligures tribes, it came under Roman influence in c. 180 BC, after the Punic wars in which the city had been allied to Carthage. At the fall of the Western Roman Empire, it passed under Lombard rule in 641 (being destroyed in the attack) after a short period as an Ostrogoth and then Byzantine possession. Later it recovered as county seat in the Carolingian Empire.
After a long struggle against the Saracens, Savona acquired independence in the 11th century becoming a free municipality. Subsequently, after a short alliance, it fought Genoa before being definitively conquered in 1528. It then shared the fortunes of the Republic of Genoa until Napoleonic times, and subsequent annexation to the Kingdom of Sardinia-Piedmont (1815).

Madeira, land of contrasts !!!…. Funchal comes from the word funcho, meaning fennel in Portuguese. Funchal is the capital of the island of Madeira, an autonomous region of Portugal comprising the islands of the archipelago. With its neighbouring boroughs (municipalities) of Camara de Lobos, Santa Cruz, Machico and Ribeira Brava the town has over 150,000 inhabitants. It is the most populous Portuguese city outside mainland Portugal. The Funchal conurbation includes the cities of Funchal, Câmara de Lobos, Caniço and Santa Cruz, all on the south side of Madeira.
Funchal lies in a natural “amphitheatre”, with gentle slopes beginning at the harbour and rising almost 1200 metres. This provides a natural shelter that attracted the first settlers. Funchal is a cosmopolitan and panoramic city, with parks, shops and hotels. If you look at the size of Madeira, you can hardly imagine that this island has so much to offer!
